Champion Veg With Hornbeams Hops!
Helping the Environment!
Digging spents hops into the ground helps to improve and condition the soil.
Laying the spent hops on top of the soil acts as a mulch to help suppress weeds, and possilbly deter slugs.
One local allotment gardener is convinced that using spent hops in this way has contributed to a bigger, better yield of crops.
The good quality, good sized vegetables won several trophies in a local horticultural show in September.
Thanks Hornbeam Brewery...David
